Reflective Questions for Personal Devotion and Communal Fellowship –

Sermon – All In the Family – John 4:1-42

What does conditional love feel like? What does unconditional love feel like?

What does it feel like to be forgotten? Who has forgotten you? Does it feel like God has ever forgotten you?

What does it mean for you right now— including your struggles and failures— if God really wrote your whole story?

How does the epic plot of the Bible affect your own view of your own life? How does being a child of God shape your sense of self, of others, and of God?

Have you– or a piece of you— ever been reduced to ashes? How did God use that experience?

Where are your ashes being used? How do you feel that you are being breathed through by God?

What parts of your own life, sin, and self are being sought out by grace? What fallen/unjust/sinful parts of your community, nation, and world are being sought out by grace?

How might Christians expand their experience and view of the family of God? How can we as Sanctuarians live out and breathe out God’s relentless love for all His children?
