Reflective Questions for Personal Devotion and Communal Fellowship –

Sermon – Dying to Be Born (The Only Way to Live) – John 3:1-21

Who do you trust in your life? How do you know that you trust them? What does it feel like?

What is having faith in God— trusting God— like for you? When is it difficult? When does it feel safe or natural?

Why do you think it can be so difficult, shocking, or even painful to trust God? Why is it so difficult for us to realize we are already “in the wheelbarrow”?

How do you view the phrase “being born again”? Do you identify with it or not? What comes to mind when you encounter that phrase?

Imagine what your baby-self felt, thought, and experienced when it was born. What would your baby-self tell you about that event?

Which particular things in this world are, for you, signs that God made you for another world?

How might you be reminded more, in each moment or in each day, of the faithfulness of God to us? How can that trust not just be known, but also felt?

How are you “dying” in this life? How have you encountered the physical death of others in your life?

What experiences in your life are examples of ‘losing your life’ to ‘find it’?
