Reflective Questions for Personal Devotion and Communal Fellowship –

Sermon – Everybody Must Get Stoned – John 7:58-8:11

What do you feel when you read the story of the woman caught in adultery? Who in the story do you identify with?

Try to put yourself in the shoes of the various characters in that story. What is it like?

Have you ever been blamed before? What were the circumstances? Did the blame ‘work’?

How does it feel to be blamed? How does it feel to blame?

Where do you see the human urge to blame in your own life? In your family’s life? What about in your community or in your nation?

Is there a particular issue, challenge, or wound in your life that continues to fester in the game of blame? What would happen if Jesus tended to it?

What are some ways that the Godly stone of grace can touch your life, your community, or your nation?

How do you feel when you drop your stone? Does your perception of yourself and of others change when you drop your stone?
