Reflective Questions for Personal Devotion and Communal Fellowship –
Sermon – ‘Love and Law: Saved by Free Will from free will For Free Will’
What does the fragility of our bodies say about ourselves, Jesus, and salvation? What does our capacity to heal say about these things?
In your own fragility/the fragility of those you love, what does the the frailty and broken body of Jesus mean to you?
What do you think about free will? How does it affect responsibility, vulnerability, relationship, and/or faith?
Pastor Peter discusses “freedom from” and “freedom to”. What do you think true freedom is?
Have you ever thought something was making you freer when it really wasn’t?
Do you think experiences such as shame, fear, love, or hope affect our free will? If they do, how does it fit into your own understanding of salvation?
Reflect on God’s will and your own will. How do they fit together? How is your freedom uplifted or limited?
How has your love for others, and/or others’ love for you affected your own sense of free will?
What parts of your true self will come to greater freedom and life as you further encounter the loving will of God? What parts of you will fall away?
