Reflective Questions for Personal Devotion and Communal Fellowship –

Sermon – Stop It! (From the Now, Sin No More) – John 7:58-8:20

What is your reaction to Jesus saying, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more”?

In your own experience, how has church(es) lived out, or not lived out, that challenging message of Jesus?

Have you in your own faith life felt the need to ‘add’ a qualifier to Jesus saying “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more”?

Who do you condemn? Do you condemn yourself? What would Jesus tell you if He was with you while you were condemning?

What does it feel like to have Jesus condemn condemnation? Is it relieving? Joyful? Confusing? Painful?

Are you more condemning of others, or of yourself? Where did you learn it?

How does your outer self and your inner self react to condemnation? What about to grace?

Is there a spiritual practice that you could begin which would help remind you of Jesus’ condemnation of condemnation?
