Reflective Questions for Personal Devotion and Communal Fellowship –

Sermon – The Fountain – John 7:1-37-8:1

What is your relationship to the giving and receiving of love? How do questions of inherent worth, deserving, and earning connect to it?

Where and when do you feel that you need to earn God’s love? What about with other people or yourself?

Are there moments in your life when you felt fully loved for no other reason besides the fact that you are made loveable?

How do you show love to people and to yourself on a daily basis? How does God show His love for you day by day?

What does it mean for you to be thirsty for Jesus’ Fountain? How can you tell you are thirsty?

On what grounds do you drink from the Fountain of Jesus?

Imagine Jesus offering you some water. What does He say to you? How do you feel inside? How do you respond?

Reflect on a way you can give love to someone close to you. Then do it!

What happens to your monster self / false self when love visits it? How does love judge it?
