Reflective Questions for Personal Devotion and Communal Fellowship –

Sermon – The Seventh Sign – John 4:39-54

What does ‘sign’ mean to you theologically speaking? Is this an active part of your theology and faith?

Have you encountered a sign before? What do you make of the ones described in the Bible?

How do people misuse signs? Why are humans so tempted to use and abuse signs?

Which of the signs of Jesus means the most to you? Why?

How have you made sense of the Book of Revelation, with all of its signs, in your own life and faith?

Why do you think God uses signs? How do humans use signs in our society and lives? Are there similarities and differences?

Do you feel that you “understand”, or are coming to “understand”, the seventh sign?

Beyond those outlined in scripture, what are events, experiences, or times that you believe to be signs in your own story and life?

In what ways could you have a practice of reminding yourself of the signs that God has given us?
