Reflective Questions for Personal Devotion and Communal Fellowship –
Sermon – Jesus, Wine, and Kisses’ – John 2:1-11
How have you experienced alcohol use? How does your faith experience it? How has alcohol affected, or not affected, the people you love?
What is your reaction to Jesus’ wine-making miracle? Does it sit well with you, or is it confusing or unsettling?
Have you encountered addiction in your own life? What about in the lives of people around you?
Reflect on the things or experiences that people get addicted to, besides alcohol or drugs. Have you struggled with an addiction of some sort?
What do you think addiction is? Where do you think it comes from, and how do you think it is healed or endured?
Have you ever survived an addiction, or another great suffering, which melted your ego, or caused your life to crumble?
What did God do with that season of your life? What is he doing with it now?
How do you know when your soul has been kissed? What does it feel like?
Which parts of your own being need to be kissed? Which parts are enslaved?
