Reflective Questions for Personal Devotion and Communal Fellowship –
Sermon – You Will Want What You Do Not Want (I Should You Not) – John 7:1-36
As outlined by Pastor Peter, there is a holy rhythm to the story God is telling. Likewise with each week and God’s Sabbath. Do you have a spiritual rhythm to your days/weeks/months? If so, what does it look like?
Why do you think feasts are so essential and important to the story God is telling in scripture?
What kind of reaction do you have knowing that the divine feast we are all heading towards will include people you may currently not like/can’t stand?
What parts of your soul pull back/cringe/tense up, and what parts of your soul become curious/open up/etc. when thinking about that feast?
What does it mean for your own life, and how you live, that the law is love?
In light of this law, what needs to change, what needs to grow, and what needs to continue?
How has love from someone else in your life changed you over time?
How has your love for someone else in your life changed you over time?
When does Jesus’ love burn your ego? When does your chosen self feel most chosen?
