Summary
God gave the Israelites manna (literally in Hebrew, ‘what is it?’) in the desert as their daily bread. And for 1500 years God leaves them with that question: what is it? Then in John 6, Jesus says, “I am the bread of life who comes down from heaven.” The manna—the “what is it”—was finally answered with a much better question: who is it?
